With professionally trained technicians and a knowledgeable sales staff, Holmes Cycling and Fitness has been in the treadmill business for over 25 years.  We stock a large range of treadmill products, from folding home units which sell for just over $1000 all the up to commercial grade units. We'll deliver and set up your new treadmill, and our in-house service staff can make house calls to repair or maintain your Holmes purchased equipment as needed. From start to finish, Holmes has got you covered on your treadmill purchase. Financing available to qualified buyers.

For runners and walkers, the treadmill offers an indoor option for weight-bearing cardio exercise. With adjustable speed and incline, most treadmills offer programs to vary the speed and/or incline based on a pre-designed or custom made course profile. In addition to the shock-absorbing cushioning built into the deck of the treadmill, some models offer a cushioned orthopedic belt for additional impact absorption. Holmes stocks several models which fold for more convenient storage, as well as some heavier duty commercial quality models.

Elliptical Trainers

Elliptical trainers are among the most popular fitness equipment today, offering an excellent cardio workout while improving bone density through weight-bearing exercise. They allow for full-body motion by engaging both arms and legs, or the legs can be isolated for targeted workouts. With lower impact on the joints compared to running on a treadmill or using a stepper, users can achieve similar heart rates. Many models feature adjustable incline and varying stride lengths, enabling workouts that target different muscle groups, and they can be operated in both forward and reverse directions.

Their growing popularity can be attributed to the ability to perform gentle yet effective workouts without lifting feet off the pedals, delivering comparable results to treadmills while minimizing joint impact. Additionally, elliptical trainers tend to operate more quietly than treadmills, making them a practical choice for home use, especially in apartment settings.

Stationary Bikes

Modern stationary bikes include those in recumbent positions, upright bikes and indoor cycling “spin” bikes. Some models feature handlebars that are connected to the pedals so that the upper body can be exercised along with the lower body. Most exercise bikes provide a mechanism for applying resistance to the pedals which increases the intensity of the exercise. Resistance mechanisms include magnets, fans, and friction mechanisms. Some models allow the user to pedal backwards to exercise antagonist muscles which are not exercised in forward pedaling. Many bikes include electronic consoles which provide programs to control resistance according to a course profile.

Indoor Rowers

One of the most popular forms of indoor cardio exercise today is rowing. In addition to offering a great cardio workout, rowers strengthen muscles throughout the body.

Lateral Trainers

One of the hottest new formats on the market is the lateral trainer. Working different muscle groups than an elliptical trainer or treadmill, the lateral trainers you'll find at Holmes are an excellent way to mix up your workout and get a fantastic cardio and strength workout in a minimal amount of time.
