Hybrid
Although hybrid bikes are a cross between a road bike and a mountain bike, they offer a more upright riding position than either of these categories. They are often equipped with a suspension fork and a seatpost shock and are perfect for bike paths, rail trails, and road riding where efficiency is of no concern. Hybrids have a 700c wheel size like road bikes, but wider tires.

Comfort Mountain Bike
Comfort mountain bikes are identical to hybrids in most ways except for wheel diameter and tire width. Equipped with front suspension, seatpost shock, and a riser handlebar, comfort mountain bikes have a 26” diameter wheel like most mountain bikes do. Also, comfort mountain bikes have wider tires and are a better choice on bumpier terrain than hybrids.

Cruisers
Cruiser bikes are unique in that the seat is oriented further back than most bikes so that the rider can get proper leg extension with the seat closer to the ground. Cruisers are generally a little heavier than hybrids or comfort mountain bikes and are great for casual riding around town
