Freestyle
Freestyle bikes are designed for doing tricks on paved surfaces and sometimes specifically for riding ramps. They often come with pegs attached to the hubs for the rider to stand on or slide on ramps or rails. Freestyle bikes generally have both front and rear brakes with a rotor system so that the bars can be spun without tangling cables.

Dirt Jumping
Dirt jumping bikes are set up to ride dirt tracks and execute jumps. As such, they have knobby tires and, in most cases, only a rear brake. As with Freestyle bikes, dirt jumpers utilize a rotor system for easy bar spins.

BMX Racing 20”/24”
As the name implies, this category is for those who intend to race on a BMX track. BMX racers are light and fast, equipped with a rear brake only, and not designed for abuse. They are available in 20” and 24” wheel sizes.
