Indoor Trainers
A trainer allows conversion of your conventional outdoor bike into a stationary bike. The rear axle of the bike is clamped and the rear tire is held against a resistance unit which utilizes a wind, magnetic, or fluid module to produce resistance.
Rollers
Rollers are designed to allow indoor riding on cylinders which rotate inside a frame. They are great for developing balance on the bicycle, but it takes a little practice to become proficient at riding these.
Indoor Cycles
Numerous brands of stationary “spin” bikes are available which can replicate the riding position and sensation of riding your bicycle outside. These offer adjustable resistance and your choice of pedals systems.
Accessories
Accessories are available for riding indoors. In order to make indoor riding more tolerable, you might consider cycling videos. Front wheel riser blocks can angle your bike to simulate riding uphill. Protective covers are available to keep corrosive sweat from dripping from you onto your frame.
